Sustainable Seasons

Our activities throughout the year use the different seasons to help the community in Clevedon live more sustainably and in harmony with nature. These are some ideas that  guide what we do.

Spring

Spring is the perfect time to start fresh and implement new habits for sustainable living. As the world around us begins to bloom, there are several ways to embrace eco-friendly practices:

  • Grow a garden without pesticides and herbicides. Grow your own vegetables, fruits, and herbs and flowering plants that pollinators love. Not only does this reduce the need to purchase produce with high carbon footprints, but it also encourages local biodiversity.

  • Choose sustainable forms of transport: As the weather warms, consider walking, cycling, or using public transport instead of driving. This can significantly cut down on greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Spring Cleaning: When decluttering, donate items you no longer need or repair them rather than throwing them away. This reduces waste and gives your belongings a second life.

  • Install Rain Barrels: Collect rainwater to use for watering your garden and plants, reducing your reliance on purified water from the tap

By making small, mindful changes throughout the year, we can collectively make a significant impact on our environment. Each season presents unique opportunities to embrace sustainable living, support nature, and reduce our carbon footprints. Let's pledge to make every season a step towards a greener, healthier planet.
